Our journey from humble beginnings of wire products to an extensive range across three main categories has been driven by our dedication to streamline daily chores at home such as tidying up the house, preparing food and doing laundry.
We are dedicated to creating high-quality home goods that are designed with careful consideration to function, aesthetics, materials, price, and comply with EU regulatory standards. Through years of experience, we have learned that these are the key features that our products and services must possess to meet the needs of our customers worldwide.

From Artisans to Producers
Our story began over 78 years ago with a young Egidio Morandi who was inspired by the skilled hands of local artisans in transforming a spool of wire into a beautiful basket. This sparked a vision within him to create a manufacturing plant that would produce wire items for households.
In February 1945, he founded Metaltex, and the journey began.
Starting a business is never easy, especially during a period like post-war WWII. Metaltex had to overcome numerous economic and political obstacles. Despite the challenges, the company continued to grow, moving its production to Italy and expanding its factory in response to the growing demand for household items. From a small workshop in Blevio, Metaltex gradually expanded to Mornello and Cernobbio, reaching 5,000 m2 in size, which was once thought to be far too excessive!
Today, Metaltex is in the hands of Sergio and Ivano, the sons of Egidio Morandi, and has grown to become much more than just a factory. With four manufacturing centers and numerous branches, a vast international network of retail partners and distributors. Metaltex has established itself as a stable and reliable company in the industry.
As we approach the 80th anniversary of our company’s founding, we reflect on our journey spanning three generations, the challenges we overcame, and the milestones we achieved. We are proud of our humble beginnings, and we recognize that they have shaped us into the company we are today.
