On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Valencian Community was struck by the meteorological phenomenon DANA, which caused heavy rains and flooding in rivers and tributaries across more than 60 municipalities, affecting a population of 850,000 people and leaving a tragic toll of over 200 lives lost and hundreds missing.
Our branch in Spain, Metaltex Iberia, located in Riba-Roja de Túria, one of the affected municipalities, also suffered the consequences of the overflow from the Rambla del Poyo and the Barranco del Pozalet, flooding with at least one meter and thirty centimeters of water around 6:30 PM. Fortunately, there were no personal injuries among our colleagues, although the material damages were significant.
This past weekend, sixty people, including our Spanish colleagues and volunteers, came together in an act of solidarity to begin the cleanup of our facilities. Together, we are committed to overcoming this challenge and contributing to the recovery of our headquarters as soon as possible.
