Blue Moon is the master of the World Ranking Champion Classe “Melges 24”. The Swiss boat manned by a highly experienced team: Franco Rossini shipowner, with Flavio Favini at the helm, Matteo Ivaldi calling tactics, Tiziano Nava, Stefano Rizzi to the sheets, winning for the third time, second row, the ranking of the World’s category.
The season got off to a flying start with the most important trophy of the weeks sailing, in Key West, Florida.
The boat which is co-sponsored by Metaltex under the brand name “Wire World” (American branch of the Group) competing against a fleet of 38 competitors in the sphere doubles world title, won for the second consecutive year the title of Swiss Champion, the championship which was held on Lake Maggiore in Luino last October 15th to 19th.
Blu Moon’s sailing team is now waiting for the 2012 season which begins on January 12, in the waters of Key West where they will head the new boat under construction in Zenda, Wisconsin, and in collaboration with logistics “Metaltex” and “Wire World” will be first moved to Miami and then onto Key West.
